The EC men’s soccer team (8-1-8, 6-1-4) tied 1-1 at Long Beach City College (6-5-6, 4-4-3) on Tuesday. The draw keeps the Warriors atop of the South Coast conference standings.
Sophomore forward Andy Nuñez gave EC the lead in the 61st minute with an assist from sophomore forward Derrick Hamilton.
The desperation to get an equalizer caused Long Beach to get more physical and they earned three yellow cards in the last 18 minutes.
Long Beach’s effort payed off when they equalized in the last minute of regulation to make it 1-1.
The draw was enough to stay atop of the conference as Mt. San Antonio threw away a two-goal lead and ended up drawing 3-3 when they hosted Cerritos College on Tuesday.
The Warriors host L.A. Harbor (5-4-9, 3-3-5) College on Nov. 7.
