Police Beat Sept. 8 – Sept. 15
El Camino College
Sept. 8, 9:21 a.m. An officer responded to the Social Science Building for a medical aid. According to the report, a student was complaining of chest pains and was having a hard time breathing. Paramedics arrived and transported the student to an area hospital.
Sept. 8, 10:50 a.m. According to the report, an officer responded to the police lobby for an attempted theft report. A staff member told the officer that someone tried to steal the catalytic converter from her Honda CRV that was parked on the south side of Lot H. There are no security cameras in that area. A report was taken.
Sept. 9, 9:20 p.m. According to the report, an officer responded to the fourth floor of the MBA Building for a disturbance. A student was arguing with a faculty member about the procedure for adding or dropping a class. The officer told the student to leave the building and to make an appointment with a counselor. The student was referred to the Director of Student Development. A report was taken.
Sept. 10, 8:24 a.m. According to the report, an officer responded to the police lobby for a theft report. The student told the officer that someone stole the catalytic converter from her Honda Element in Lot L. The police department is investigating similar crimes that have occurred on campus. A report was taken.
Sept. 10, 10:15 a.m. According to the report, an officer responded to the MBA Building for a medical aid call. A student told her instructor that she was having chest pains. Paramedics transported the student to an area hospital. A report was taken.
Sept. 10, 4:15 p.m. According to the report, an officer responded to the Library for a medical aid. A student told the officer that she was feeling hot and was going to pass out. Paramedics transported the student to an area hospital. A report was taken.
Gardena
Sept. 7, 5:27 a.m. A home in the 15500 block of Wilton Place was burglarized. Taken was computer equipment and cell phones. An arrest was made.
Sept. 7, 7:27 a.m. Firearms and a credit card were stolen from a home in the 15600 block of Parron Avenue.
Sept. 7, 7:56 a.m. A home in the 2000 block of 157th Street was burglarized. Unknown suspects cut a padlock and stole various electronics.
Sept. 7, 1:18 p.m. A home in the 15400 block of Wilton Place was burglarized.
Sept. 8, 12:13 p.m. A vehicle was burglarized in the 15400 block of Parron Avenue. Unknown suspects used a car lock pick to gain entry and steal credit cards.
Sept. 8, 1:56 p.m. An attempted burglary occurred in the 2600 block of 155th Street.
Sept. 9, 3:57 p.m. A vehicle was stolen in the 2700 block of Manhattan Beach Boulevard.
Sept. 10, 9:05 a.m. A office building in the 15200 block of Western Avenue was burglarized. Unknown suspects took money from the location.
Torrance
Sept. 6, 6:52 a.m. Unknown suspects pry open a door and burglarize a business in the 16300 block of Crenshaw Boulevard. A PS 3 and haircutting tools were taken.
