Last week, Diane Woodruff, interim chancellor of the California Community Colleges, took a tour of EC, and she was impressed by what she saw around the campus.

Her visit may have signified the beginning of many important dignitaries who are coming to see EC’s transformation

Indeed, the administration must be commended for improving the look of the campus with the help of bond measures passed by community voters a few years ago.

In addition to the construction that is taking place, EC is quickly gaining notoriety for its athletics, nursing and journalism programs, which have developed reputations among the elite statewide and nationwide community colleges.

With all the success that EC is enjoying, it seems that no one is hearing about it.

Around the city of Los Angeles, there are advertisements for other local colleges on buses and billboards, but other than a few radio commercials, there is little or no advertising for EC.

It’s time for the administration to put EC’s name at the forefront of advertising for community colleges because it is the best place to come for the university experience at a reasonable price.
