Out of 100 El Camino students, only one knew President Tom Fallo’s name, and only 17 knew of the school’s presidential search, according to interviews conducted by journalism students.
These results came after the Board of Trustees sent two school-wide emails two weeks ago and this past Wednesday.
The emails announced the names of the presidential candidates and informed students that the public presidential forums would take place from Oct. 5-6.
Despite administration’s efforts to involve the campus community, many students are still unaware of the upcoming changes that will have a huge impact on their education in the near future.
However, this does not stop students from having ideas of what they want from the next college president.
The top three changes students would like to see from the next president are cheaper food, cheaper books and better parking, according to interviews conducted by journalism students.
Other notable changes students are hoping for are better Wi-Fi, cheaper classes and an improved MyECC website.
Students are encouraged to ask the presidential candidates such questions and help with the selection process at the public forums on Oct. 5-6 at 10 a.m.
