Female student retracts sex act report
The student who reported to ECPD a week ago she was “coerced into engaging in oral copulation” on campus Dec. 1 has retracted her statement, according to a Crime Alert sent via email Thursday afternoon.
According to the email, “The female victim was re-interviewed by campus police, at which time she recanted the events of the alleged sexual assault, admitting that the crime did not occur as she initially stated.”
The woman, who met the male suspect on campus in October, met him at the Communications Building on the morning of Dec. 1, where he allegedly took her into a men’s restroom and “coerced” her.
Last week, EC Police Chief Michael Trevis said in an email that he hoped the woman would be able to provide enough information for a composite sketch of the suspect to be done, though one was never sent via a Crime Alert.
