Students and faculty came out in full force to donate blood during the three day blood drive earlier this month.
Participants flocked to the Student Activities Center East Lounge Oct. 11 – 13, to donate blood and help save lives.
“We help people save lives one pint at a time,” Nima Hamdi, vice president of public relations for the American Red Cross Club (ARCC), said.
The blood drive was sponsored by the Inter-Club Council (ICC) and with the help of the ARCC, the American Red Cross received 259 units of blood.
“It was a success and a lot of members were interested in helping,” Hamdi said.
If students did not get a chance to donate blood this time around, the club will be having a blood drive next semester. Interested students may also sign up to donate at redcrossblood.org.
“Saving lives is a way for a campus to come together and be united to help a cause,” K. Breanna Von Stein, student services specialist, said. “Each pint can save three lives.”
