On Wednesday, November 25, the EC Warriors suffered 18-point loss to the Irvine Valley girl’s basketball team by 40-58.
Warriors were playing strong in the first half when Tianna Coleman, #22, hit to three-pointers in a row, to give the team a good boost. Javana Kirer, #45 had four blocks in the first half. But in the second half, Irvine Valley came back with a new strategy, while the Warriors lost their momentum.
The Warriors began to suffer when Irvine Valley’s defense kicked in. They managed to get a lot of turnovers as the Warriors defense got weaker. In the last 8-10 minutes of the end of the game the opposing team dominated in offense and defense and the Warriors struggled. The opposing team simply outshined the Warriors in the second half, but there will be a tournament at Cypress where they can get back into the game and work harder at their lack of defense and offense.
