Two men sought in attempted robbery

Two men are sought for allegedly attempting to steal a cell phone Tuesday from a student using it.

The man who tried to take the phone was a 5-foot-9-inch black male of thin build, wearing a black zippered sweatshirt and gray sweatpants. His companion was a 5-foot-10-inch black male, wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police are seeking any information from any witnesses present.

Man charged with stealing textbooks

A man was charged with a felony of grand theft for allegedly stealing six books from the bookstore on Nov. 22.

Staff members reportedly saw the male subject shoplifting and contacted officers.

Man arrested for public drunkeness

A 43-year-old male was arrested for being drunk in public on Nov. 16 in the Student Services Center.

The male subject was harassing students and could barely walk.

Handgun found in confiscated vehicle

A 9 mm handgun was found during an inventory of a towed vehicle Nov. 19.

The vehicle was towed for having expired registration tabs over six months; one tab was found belonging to another vehicle.

The vehicle’s owner will be charged with a felony.

Bike rider arrested for pot possession

A man who was initially stopped for riding a bicycle on campus was arrested for possession of marijuana and a hypodermic needle Sunday.

Officers also found a broken glass pipe and a plastic cylinder.

Biker with $10,000 warrant picked up

A man with a $10,000 warrant was picked up by the Redondo Beach Police Dept. Nov. 22.

He was found riding a bicycle without a light on a campus road.

Two juveniles cited for pot, tobacco

Two juveniles were caught driving without a license as well as possessing marijuana and tobacco products, Nov. 24.

The boy gave false information to police; the girl was an unreported runaway from Hawthorne.

Both were cited with violations.
