Powerful and rich harmonies will come together in the Marsee Auditorium when “La Favorita: A Musical Journey” comes to campus with mezzo-soprano Jill Grove and pianist Victoria Kirsch on March 9, according to the Center for the Arts website..
Grove, who is a frequent guest performer at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, according to her website, has earned rave reviews throughout the United States and Europe.
Kirsch has developed a number of collaborative shows and programs, including a theatrical concert piece based on the works of Emily Dickinson, according to Kirsch’s website.
The two artists will be performing a variety of musical pieces, including Manuel De Falla’s “Siete Canciones Populares Espanolas,” Antonin Dvorak’s “Gypsy Songs” and Ralph Vaughn Williams’ “The House of Life,” according to the Center for the Arts website.
The performance will be on March 9 at 8 p.m. in the Marsee Auditorium, and tickets are $24.
