Carmen Bradford, jazz vocalist, who has interpreted songs of Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, will be performing at the Marsee Auditorium on Oct. 9 at 8 p.m.
Bradford’s program will include “big blues and jazz standards from the Great American Songbook,” according to the Center for the Arts’ website.
The acclaimed jazz vocalist will perform alongside her Jazz Trio, which includes a pianist, bass player and percussionist, according to Director of the Center for the Arts Rick Christophersen.
“It will be exciting to see Bradford since she has performed at the Hollywood Bowl,” Christophersen said. “This will be different because she’ll probably tell personal stories, and it will be more of an intimate setting.”
Tickets will sell for $10 for students who show a valid student I.D. — students are also allowed to bring one guest for the same price — if purchased before Oct. 8. For the general public, tickets will sell for $24 at the box office.
