Students and faculty in the basement of the Art Building were evacuated as large fans were brought in and placed at each entrance of the hallway due to diesel fumes.
Although the first and basement floors were evacuated, the rest of the art building resumed with their scheduled classes. Lab technician Adrian Amjadi said hopefully it is just a morning issue and will be resolved within an hour.
“We had it last week, it was for a moment,” Amjadi said.
Amjadi also added that the fumes do not pose a health threat unless there is prolonged exposure to the fumes.
Large fans are being used to ventilate the hallways.
“It is better on the side of caution to just air it out,” Amjadi said.
