The El Camino women’s volleyball team (16-3 overall, 4-0 in conference) quickly took down the Rio Hondo College Roadrunners in straight sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-16) on Friday night.
“We continue to work hard in practice and it’s showing in our games,” sophomore middle blocker Micah Hammond said. “It’s definitely important (to keep winning), we want all the top teams to know we’re a force to be reckoned with.”
Hammond had nothing but praise for freshman outside hitter Aiko Waters, who she teamed up for the match-ending block.
“It felt really great,” Hammond said. “She did a great job setting up the block in the perfect position the whole night and it’s very satisfying getting another sweep.”
The Warriors are on the road at East Los Angeles College this Wednesday night at 6 p.m. For live-updates on the game, follow @ECCUnionPhil and check the #eccunion and #ECWVB hash tags on Twitter.
