The El Camino College Nursing program has informational sessions monthly during each semester for students looking to apply or better understand the program.
“Nursing is a popular major on our campus, so we usually have a good attendance,” nursing counselor Janice Pon-Ishikawa said. “This is a required part in order to join the program, so you must attend one of the (meetings).”
The program is made up of 72 units, consisting of two 8-week classes per semester. The estimated cost for the Nursing program is about $5,500-6,500 and students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 in order to apply.
Out of the 80 estimated students who apply for the program, only about 40 are admitted each semester. Students may apply the following semester if they are not accepted.
The next informational session will be on Wednesday, March 2 at 5 p.m. in the Distance Education Center.
