Over 400 scholarships ranging from $500 to $4000 are being given to students with a 2.0 GPA or higher and have or are completing six graded credit units at El Camino, according to the EC scholarship office.

The EC foundation scholarships can be used to cover tuition, books, fees, and even supplies.

Mariama Jalloh, an assistant in the EC scholarship office, said the scholarship office is there to help students with the scholarship process.

“(We) offer fliers for the scholarships and we post external scholarships throughout the year, so it’s definitely worth a visit to the office,” Jalloh said.

Jalloh said that the application process is as simple as students logging into ‘myecc’ and clicking on ‘scholarship application’.

“The foundation scholarships can be found online,” Jalloh said. “Students can submit just one application for all 400 scholarships.”

The Reading Success Center will be holding two workshops in the Library’s East Basement for students who are interested in receiving help with scholarship applications.

The workshops will take place Friday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Monday, Nov. 16 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The deadline for students to apply for EC foundation scholarships is Dec. 11.
