First Academic Senate meeting of fall semester takes place
Changes to the smoking policy, embellishes to the online class system, and potential cuts to repeatable courses in the Arts and Physical Education departments were addressed at the Academic Senate meeting Tuesday.
Senators detailed specific goals and objectives that EC strives to fulfill this upcoming school year.
Art professors Vince Palacios and Ali Ahmadpour expressed their frustration concerning the potential cuts. Both members said that students will face significant competition while attempting to transfer.
“They won’t make it. All art schools are portfolio based, and with one semester of ceramics, they won’t make it,” Palacios said. “I love all the planning, it looks good on paper, but I just can’t understand.”
