With one loss last Wednesday, the Warriors ended their most successful season in 20 years against Imperial Valley with a score of 77-68.
The basketball team was lost without point guard Joe Knox, who was on the bench for a good part of the game, causing the team to settle for jump shots instead of driving to the basket.
Shots didn’t fall as they normally did and free throws were a constant problem with the team shooting only 50 percent from the line.
The tea, was led by guard Marcellus Cullors, with 20 points, and forward Chuck Gray’s 16 points.
The offense was paced by guard Joe Knox’s nine assists and the defense’s tone was set by forward Kris Lawrie’s seven spectacular blocks in traffic.
Despite the loss, this was the first time in 20 years that the men’s basketball team had a 20-win season and 10 years since the team has clinched a playoff berth.
