It was a sunny day for the men’s water polo team as it defeated Santa Monica 17-9 on Oct. 24.
“We started off really strong and limited their offense,” coach Corey Stanbury said. “In the second quarter we were up 6-3 and never looked back.”
The Warriors were able to answer back to Santa Monica’s attacks by countering with great passes.
“The game went super well,” Hugo Palma said. “We had good communication this game, which is one thing I have been focusing on this season.”
The Warriors offense and defense still needs improvement like all other teams but Stanbury says as the season progresses everything will fall into place.
“This time we controlled the game from the start and kept the lead,” Michael Walla said. “They took advantage of our mistakes they did start to catch up but we ended up winning.”
