After a visit to Grossmont and two matches, the Warriors’ women’s volleyball team beat the Griffins and lost to the College of the Canyons.
The first game went back and forth with the Griffins winning the first and third set, while the Warriors took sets two and four, according to cccaastats.org.
After a long match the Warriors opened their season with a win over the Grossmont Griffins, with a 15-10 set five win, according to cccaastats.org.
A 1-0 start to the season had the Warriors in great momentum setting up for their second match of the day against the College of the Canyons Cougars.
But the Cougars were looking to begin their season off on a high note against the Warriors.
The Warriors could only take the second set while the first, third and fourth set were taken by the College of the Canyons.
The Cougars are now 2-0, after beating both the Warriors and Griffins, while the Grossmont Griffins dropped both matches for an 0-2 start, according to cccaastats.org.
The Warriors finished the beginning of their season 1-1.
The team will look to bounce back from the loss on its way to the state championships which will be hosted at the College of the Canyons in December, according to cccaastats.org.
The first home game will be against the Santa Monica Corsairs this Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the South Gym.
