The women’s tennis team defeated Rio Hondo College 8-1 to snap their three-game losing streak on Tuesday.
In the doubles, sophomore Donya Assef and sophomore Shenae Shampine won 8-2.
Freshman Serina Rowland and freshman Jade Shugars won 8-0. Sophomore Chihiro Yamada and freshman Melissa Gronik won 8-1.
In the singles Shampine won 6-3, 6-0 while Rowland was defeated 7-5, 6-4.
Shugars won 6-0, 6-1, Assef dominated her match 6-0, 6-0, and Yamada won against her match 6-1, 6-3. Gronik played hard to win against her match 6-1, 6-4.
EC lost four of their last five games before this win. The Warriors improve their record to 8-5-1 and they’ll host College of The Desert on March 19 at 2 p.m.
