Athlete of the Week: Victoria Curtice

Victoria Curtice is a sophomore middle blocker for El Camino women’s volleyball team. After taking her place on the starting roster in 2015, she’s been one of the most consistent players on the current 2016 team. Victoria Curtice, 19, undecided major, is the co-captain of the No. 9 ranked El Camino women’s volleyball team. Head coach Le Valley Pattison said Curtice has been one of the more consistent players on the team, especially in the losses.

Curtice currently works at Red Lobster as a hostess and partially enjoys her work there, but really enjoys working with kids.

Question: What do you like to do for fun?

Answer: “I like to block girls in game for fun.”

Q: What are your hobbies apart from volleyball?

A: “I’ve been (practicing) martial arts since I was three and I’m a second-degree black belt. I love it.”

Q: Why do you like to work with kids?

A: “I enjoy working with kids, because they’re so lively and they’re full of energy and I feed off of that. It keeps me in a good mood.”
