With a runner on first base and the Warriors down to the Huskies and Stephanie Torres of East L.A. line’s out to Shortstop Stephanie Hall.
That turned out to be a double play as Hall give it to second basemen Jennifer Hernandez to get out of the top of the 6th, but that wasn’t enough as the Warriors would go on to lose 9-0 to East Los Angeles College last Thursday.
“Defensively she does a great job, she really does a great job and she’s a great defensive player and our middle is pretty strong,” coach Susie Calderon said.
Starting pitcher Natasha Milosevich went four innings and allowed 11 hits and seven runs and walked one and struck out one.
Relief Pitcher Alyssa Stout went two innings and allowed three hits and two runs and walked one and struck out one.
The Warriors next game is today at Long Beach City College at 3 p.m.
The Warriors really struggled offensively and defensively last Thursday, they had five hits against starting pitcher Pamela Ramirez of East L.A. and defensively committing two errors.
“Yeah we did, you know but, like I said we just kind of have to get it together and you know something going to click and they just have to keep their heads up,” Calderon said.
The team will try and forget this lost and move on as a team.
“I think so you know I think they know what they need to do, so will get it together,” Calderon said.
The Warriors where at the Golden West Tournament this past weekend and tried to improve as a team.
“Oh absolutely each game that we play you know you want to improve as a team, so we been through some really tough times and stuff, but will get it together and it’s going to came and it’s going to click,” Calderon said.
The Warriors recently lost 3rd basemen Elizabeth Garland to head tumor and she had surgery February 26th and she is missed by her coach and teammates.
“She’s got a tough road ahead of her and she’s in our thoughts and our prayers and we sure do miss her,” Calderon said.
” I miss her very much,” Outfielder Shannon Brown said.
” She is really missed on the team with her positive attitude and spirit,” First basemen and pitcher Alyssa Stout said.
“I miss her a lot she has the biggest heart for softball and she is so energetic and without her where nothing,” Infielder Jules Kronberger said.
