Police Beat: March 26-29
Mar. 26 – 12:30 p.m.
Officers responded to the Student Activities Center regarding a medical aid call. A female student was experiencing a seizure inside the Inter-Club Council room. Paramedics were notified and arrived on scene, but she refused to be transported to an area hospital.
Mar. 26 – 7:30 p.m.
An officer responded to the Planetarium regarding a medical aid call. A female student who was returning from break, tripped and fell on a sidewalk between the Natural Sciences Building and Planetarium. The student fell head first and complained of a sore cheek, while her inner-lip was bleeding. Paramedics arrived and the student refused to seek attention.
Mar. 28- 5:30 p.m.
Officers respond to an area of Parking Lot C regarding a reckless male driver. The Police Department received numerous calls from witnesses stating he was driving in donuts at high speed. Eventually, the driver crashed into a wall located South of Lot H, West Entrance. Inside the vehicle, officers found three closed containers of an alcoholic beverage and two prescription bottles. Although the driver was not injured, he was given a field sobriety test. He failed to pass it and was arrested for suspicion of DUI of alcohol or drugs. He was transferred to the Torrance Police Department.
Mar. 29 – 11 a.m.
An officer talked to a female student at the Campus Police station regarding a theft. She said on Tuesday of that week at 5:45 p.m., she went to the Women’s restroom on the North side of the Bookstore and placed her cell phone and ring on the seat cover dispenser in the stall. Minutes later, she returned and discovered her items were missing.
