The Union went around asking students if they prefer face-to-face contact or online contact when meeting people.
“In person, you can dig a little deeper and read that person’s face. Not being able to see the person is a big thing for me.” – Saira Bolanos, 19, management information systems major.
“(Online) is good in terms of accessibility and variety of women.” – Denzel Roseboro, 20, theater.
“You don’t know who you’re meeting (online). First impressions mean a lot and they can be anybody.” – Larissa Daquigan, 18, kinesiology.
“(Online) gives me perspective … kind of opens you up to other people (and makes me) more confident in approaching people.” – Vernell Rainey, 20, theater/communications.
“(If you meet them online), it has to be in a crowd or something because they could be murderer’s taking me somewhere.” – Jasmine Martinez, 18, radiology.
“(I’d rather meet) in person because you see what they look like (and know) how they talk and how they act.” – Solomon Kanehailua, 18, film.
