Campus to serve as voting center during presidential primary elections

With the implementation of a new electronic voting system, The Voting Systems for All People (VSAP), Los Angeles County’s registered voters are able to go to ECC to vote in the days leading up to and on Election Day, Tuesday, March 3.

El Camino College’s East Dining Room will serve as a voting center during the upcoming presidential primary elections starting Saturday, Feb. 29, according to an email from ECC’s Office of Marketing and Communications.

Last November, Rep. Maxine Waters, alongside Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder and County Clerk Dean Logan, visited ECC to speak about the new voting system.

Using touchscreen-operated machines that have adjustable font sizes and 13 different language options in addition to listening devices for hearing-impaired voters, VSAP will help expedite and make voting easier for those with busy schedules, disabilities and language barriers, Logan told The Union back in November.

Voting center hours:

Saturday, Feb. 29 to Monday, March 2

8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, March 3

7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
