A data breach of user information occurred from Chegg, an online educational company specializing in textbook sales.

Chegg recently announced to users that their data was breached in an email sent on Thursday, Sept. 27.

In the email, affected Chegg users were informed of the breach as well as given instructions on what to do next.

According to a representative from Chegg’s customer service hotline, Chegg highly recommends that users change their account passwords and visit their help page.

According to their help page, Chegg believes that none of their user’s financial information was stolen in the breach.

Due to this, Chegg is not offering a credit monitoring service for their users.

Despite the breach Chegg remains open for business and anyone can still use their services.
