The board of trustees nominated and elected a new president to take over at the Dec. 14 board of trustee meeting, trustee Ken Brown said.
Brown, who is the new board president and previous vice president, said that the change in personnel is a “regular board decision that happens” in December.
“Typically the gavel is passed (to the new president) in January,” Brown said. “But Bill (Beverly, former president) gave me the gavel and passed it on during the meeting.”
With president Tom Fallo stepping down and the new president of the campus, Dena Maloney, being selected; Brown looks to continue his work with keeping the relationship as president of the board with the president of the college.
“I have talked a little more,” Brown said. “There’s more interface with the media, but I am looking forward to being with the new president as she has to go (on with the new processes) of being president.”
