El Camino to host Student Welcome Day
El Camino will host a Student Welcome Day for incoming and returning students, according to a college press release.
The free event is scheduled for Aug. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is open to all students as a way to make the transition into college easier.
Workshops covering financial aid, transfer opportunities, campus safety, athletics and career planning will be going on through out the day, according to the press release.
“The main goal of Student Welcome day is to provide greater knowledge of the services that help students succeed,” Katie Neumann, nursing major and EC Student Ambassador said in the press release. “All students will benefit, especially brand new students who have never set foot on the campus before.”
Lunch will be provided for the participants, and radio station Power 106 will be playing music.
