The Women’s History Month Committee will be presenting an awards ceremony for the Women’s Wall of Fame on May 5.

The Women of Distinction awards will be adding new faces on the wall of fame in the west wing of the second floor in the Schauerman Library.

Submissions will be accepted until March 16 and nominees will be judged on personal accomplishments, leadership skills and services provided to the community.

Nominees must work or live in the El Camino College district, which includes El Segundo, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Lawndale, Lennox, Inglewood, Hawthorne and Torrance.

Winners will be honored by having their picture hung on the wall for the rest of the year, will have their name etched onto the plaque and will also receive a certificate of recognition.

Any women can be nominated, by anyone including themselves, should she meet the criteria and would like to be judged.

This month is Women’s History Month, and the committee would like to make sure the women who have made contributions to the community, and those who live in it, are honored appropriately.
