Extensions to buildings’ hours brought to ASO meeting
At its regular every-other-Thursday meeting, the Associated Student Organization discussed changes to the Student Services Building and the extension of buildings’ closing hours Oct. 2.
Vice President Sharda Jones went to the Council of Deans meeting and they decided they can push back the “W” drop date, a follow-up to the discussion Jones brought to the last ASO meeting.
In the Student Services Building, “they want to make an online center with charging stations,” ASO Director of Student and Community Advancement Janae Alvira said.
She added the college is also considering adding transgender and lactating mother bathrooms, adding that other colleges have similar bathrooms.
Alvria said extended hours for the Student Services Building will soon be implemented, with counseling hours recently extended to 7 p.m. ASO members also brought up extending the hours of the Financial Aid Office and Schauerman Library.
The next ASO meeting will take place in Room 131 in the Administration Building at 1 p.m. Oct. 16.
