Yesterday, EC hosted the first event of its Money Smart Week in Schauerman Library, where students gathered for strategies on how to manage money while attending school.
These events are part of a nationwide effort, backed by the American Library Association and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, to improve students’ financial literacy.
On Thursday, EC’s next event will be “Overcoming Your Greatest Money Fears,” where several businesses will be in attendance, including representatives of SchoolsFirst Credit Union, Stefan Kirk Wright; Branch Manager of Wells Fargo, Jose Pereda; and many others.
The workshop will be held at 1 p.m. in the Distance Education Room and an exhibit will be held at 11 a.m. before the main event. These events are all free and open to the public.
