It’s the first week of spring semester and the parking lots on campus are in shambles of car-to-car traffic and students racing to get to an empty parking spot before another.
For some students, finding a good parking spot at EC is difficult throughout the semester but finding any parking spot the first week is anything but easy.
“The parking lot is always packed for the first week. I try to get to campus early to compensate for how long it may take to find a spot,” Darnell Young, undecided major said. “It usually takes me ten to forty minutes to find a parking space.”
Fortunately, Young came to the realization that the two-level parking structure, also called parking lot F, which is located on Stadium Way and Redondo Beach Boulevard usually has spaces available.
“You just learn from experience that it’s the best place to park for the first week because it doesn’t attract much attention,” he said.
Sgt. Dal Toruno, said the main issue is that there isn’t enough parking spaces, however, there haven’t been any car accidents on campus so far.
“We really only get complaints about the lack of parking and there haven’t been accidents in the first three days,” he said.
