Have you noticed all those posters advertising the ASB faire next week? Do you know what ASB stands for? If your guess is like most other students, Associated Student Body, then you are wrong. ASB stands for Auxiliary Service Benefits.
“As the actual name states, the ASB Awareness Faire is to make students aware of ASB and all that it offers,” ASB Project coordinator, Lawrence Moreno said.
Benefits from having an ASB sticker include discounts on movie tickets, amusement park tickets, food & beverage establishments, EC home sporting events and much more.
By purchasing the ASB sticker for $10, not only do you benefit, but you are in turn helping other students here at EC as well.
Funds raised by the ASB are allocated by the Auxiliary Services Board to support Fine Arts, Student Government, the Student Newspaper, Athletics and other valuable college programs that may have otherwise been cut or eliminated, as stated on the members discount book.
As a student, if you are on the fence on whether to buy the ASB sticker, remember by supporting them they in turn are supporting you.
“For me and what it offers, its a very inexpensive investment and yet gives so much,” Moreno said.
