ASO (Associated Students Organization) President Josh Casper, history and political science major, ends his term as student body president on June 30 and will be leave on a two-year-mission for his church before continuing his education at one of several schools he has in mind.
“I feel it’s been very beneficial, I’ve enjoyed every moment here at El Camino College with both the ups and downs, it has been wonderful,” Casper said.
While his family has been working here at EC for at least 17 years, he was only 4-years-old when he started coming around the college. EC has given so much to his family and himself; he wanted to give back to the school and the community as ASO president. He also wanted to gain and strengthen his leadership skills and held presidential positions in other organizations at smaller levels as he someday hopes to go into politics. Casper also had the goal to have ASO more well known to the students and he feels that ASO is better known this year than in the past.
“One of my biggest goals was to service the students and to do my personal best at that each day and I feel I’ve done that everyday, there were some days where I can do a lot more than others, so I’ve always done my personal best which is the only promise I made during the last campaign last year,” Casper said.
