Strict fee payment deadlines, which will range from Nov. 24 to Feb. 8, 2010, will be enforced in order to avoid future delinquent fees, business director Janice Ely said.
Ely also said that the policy we be in effect for registration for the spring 2010 semester.
“For students who register from Dec 12 through Feb 8, the deadline for payment is Feb 8, 2010,” she said.
The payments will not only include money owed for classes, but it also includes any optional fees that they requested. These include payments for their parking permits or the ASB activity sticker, Ely said.
There will also be consequences for students who do not pay for their classes on time. Students who don’t pay for their classes will not be able to attend the classes that they haven’t paid for.
“The College is requiring that all fees be paid or a student will be dropped from all classes before the semester begins,” community relations director Ann Garten said.
Administrators are doing a number of things in order to inform students about the new payment deadlines. The payment deadlines were e-mailed to all students on their MyECC accounts and are also on the college Web site in the class schedules, Ely said.
If students are unable to access their MyECC e-mail accounts, she said that fliers would also be posted through out campus to let students know about the new policy.
According to the e-mail sent to students, there are three different ways that students will be able to pay for their classes. They will be able to pay online on their MyECC accounts or mail a check or money order to the college. Students can also bring a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, cash or checks to pay at the cashier’s office.
The e-mail does not just advise students who are registered to pay for their classes and other optional fees on time.
“Students on a Waitlist for a class must check El Camino College e-mail daily to find out if they have been admitted to the class. Waitlisted students must pay fees by the same deadlines
