Cyclist arrested for violating court orders
Nov. 26, 7:57 a.m.– An officer observed a subject riding his bicycle in Parking Lot A.
The officer recognized the subject, who had been arrested before and is no longer allowed on campus.
The officer saw the subject going toward Manhattan Beach Boulevard.
It was discovered that the subject had a small pipe and a small amount of marijuana.
The subject was arrested for violating court orders that prohibited him from returning to campus.
He was brought to the EC Police department for processing and booking.
He was later released with a citation to appear in court.
Student’s property stolen in the pool area
Nov. 26, 8:10 a.m.– A student reported that he had left his clothing near the bleachers beside the pool area.
He returned about an hour and a half later.
He noticed that his property was stolen, along with a pair of pants his car keys were in.
Driver receives citation for driving drunk
Nov. 27, 11 a.m.– Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and almost striking another vehicle pulling out of the campus.
An officer approached the vehicle and smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath.
A sobriety test was conducted.
The driver’s blood-alcohol level was .12.
The driver was then given a citation for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Drunk suspect in Parking Lot B receives citation
Nov. 27, 1:45 p.m.– Officers stopped a subject walking in Parking Lot B.
Officers recognized the subject, who had been arrested before.
The subject is no longer allowed on campus, and appeared to be swaying back and forth.
He was approached, and the officer performed a sobriety test; the results came out to .25.
The officer said the subject was unable to care for himself.
The subject was given a citation for violating the orders not to return to campus and for being drunk in public.
Suspect arrested with $5,000 warrant
Nov. 27, 8:43 p.m.– An officer contacted a subject, west of the facilities and planning yard.
The subject had a warrant out of the EC Police Department for $5,000 for drug paraphernalia.
The subject was booked and processed at the Torrance Police Department.
Campus Shuttle/Escort Service, Code Blue Phones
EC police operate a shuttle service for students and faculty who would like safe passage to their vehicles in the evening.
Individuals may request this service by calling 310-660-3100.
In addition, “Code Blue” police phones are located throughout the campus.
These phones are directly linked to the campus police department and are considered 911 priority lines.
Students and staff are encouraged to utilize these phones for any emergency.
Night students and faculty are encouraged to park in the same general area, as this provides an opportunity for people to walk in groups.
