Woman caught with marijuana
A cadet passed a female student in Parking Lot A and detected the smell of marijuana coming from a cigar-type object in her hands.
He notified officers who made contact with her and she admitted to smoking marijuana. She was arrested and cited for possession of marijuana of less than an ounce.
Couple caught in female restroom
During a patrol check in the Student Activities Center, officers observed the door to the women’s bathroom to be locked shut. They gained entry and found a female student who said she was alone.
The officers checked the stalls to find a male student and an unused condom on the ground.The male admitted he was about to have sex with his girlfriend and was cited for entering a posted female restroom.
Both students will be referred to the dean of enrollment services for possible disciplinary action.
Paroled driver’s car has no plates
An officer stopped a car at the corner of Manhattan Beach and Crenshaw Boulevards for having no license plates.
The driver had a $25,000 arrest warrant issued by the LAPD and was on parole for spousal abuse. He was issued a citation to appear in court for the warrant.
Four-twenty in Alondra Park
A police officer was flagged down on Manhattan Beach Boulevard by a person who claimed to have seen four subjects smoking marijuana in the Alondra Park parking lot.
The police found the suspects, who admitted smoking marijuana, two of which were found to be in possession of the narcotic and cited.
Man on parole caught with drugs
A police officer observed a suspicious man sitting on the south side of the Business Building. He said he was not a student and drank a few beers earlier on campus and gave inconsistent statements to the police officer.
During a consensual search of the subject, officers found a bag of methamphetamine. The man, also on parole for burglary, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance and transported to the Torrance Police Department.
SUV driver cited for being reckless
An officer in Lot L observed an full-sized SUV turning doughnuts at a high rate of speed.
The officer made contact with the driver, who at first said his breaks locked up before admitting he wanted to show children in the car what a good driver he was.
He was cited for reckless driving and not having his driver’s license with him.
Stereo stolen from automobile
A family parked its car in Lot L to take a bus to a local swap meet and returned at 1:30 p.m. to notice its stereo was missing.
The burglar appeared to have gained entry to the driver’s side door, which revealed pry marks. The stolen stereo was estimated to be worth $300.
