Officers arrest man with needle
Officers were patrolling the area near the Bookstore and cafeteria when they observed a man looking inside the Manhattan store window with a bicycle that had no light.
He was uncooperative and officers discovered a hypodermic needle and a small amount of methamphetamine on him.
The man, who had AIDS, was arrested for being on charges of possession of a hypodermic needle and the methamphetamine.
Police respond to drunken students
Police received a call regarding a man who was on the ground next to the Student Activities Center.
When the officers found the student, they also found his girlfriend who was under the influence of alcohol. She admitted to drinking shots of tequila in the parking lot with her boyfriend.
They were brought to the police department and detained until their relatives picked them up.
No charges were pressed, although they will be referred to the dean of enrollment services for possible disciplinary action.
Pregnant student goes to hospital
Police responded to the Technical Arts Building after receiving a call that a student was having an asthma attack while seven months pregnant.
Paramedics and ambulance units were called to the scene and she was transported to Gardena Memorial Hospital.
Student loses CD player in robbery
A student in lot L near the tennis courts flagged down an officer because his car was broken into.
The driver’s side door was lifted and unlocked with the glove compartment open.
Among the $100 worth of items missing was a CD player, a parking permit and a bag of assorted candy.
