Dazed and confused
Police are asking help from the campus community with an ongoing investigation that started two weeks ago.
Faculty members notified the police station that a student had come to them with a bloody nose, a black eye and a swollen cheek, asking for help.
When officers arrived and interviewed the student, he stated that he had just awakened in a daze in a restroom stall in the Humanities Building. He had no recollection of what had happened from 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. The only memory he has is having a confrontation with a male Hispanic over a squirrel.
The victim was transferred to Harbor General Hospital where they determined that he had a fractured skull.
Bookstore theft
Officers responded to a call from the bookstore Monday morning regarding a theft in progress.
When officers approached, the subject ran out and got into a vehicle parked in Lot C. He drove onto Manhattan Beach Boulevard where he eluded the officers. One textbook was stolen. The police have substantial leads on the suspect seeing as he has stolen from the bookstore in the past.
