The Warriors baseball team traveled to Santa Ana to play the Dons on their home turf, losing 10-7.
The Warriors gave up seven runs in the first two innings, then rallied back and earned six runs in innings three through five to keep it close.
The Warriors scored one more run in the top of the seventh inning, but gave up one run in the bottom of the fifth inning and two in the bottom of the eighth inning, giving the Dons the runs they needed for the win.
Both sides’ hitting were strong throughout the day, each team recorded thirteen hits. The Warriors biggest hitters on the day were freshman first baseman Jake Sahagian, who recorded three hits.
Center fielder Keyon Allen, right fielder Joseph Cortez and left fielder Alex Turner, all sophomores, recorded two hits against Santa Ana.
EC is currently on a two-game losing streak, trying to recapture the six-game win streak they just came down from. Their record is currently 8-4, placing them in second in their division behind the LA Harbor Seahawks.
The Warriors return home to play LA Mission on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m.
