The Warriors baseball team hit the road Tuesday to play at San Bernardino, blowing them out 16-3.
The Warriors played a strong game from start to finish, scoring in almost every inning, except the seventh, including an explosive five-run fifth inning and four run eighth inning.
The biggest hitters for the Warriors on the day were sophomore short stop Fred Smith, freshmen first baseman Jake Sahagian, and second baseman Darrian Sylvester, who hit a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to give his team a 10-1 lead.
Freshman third baseman Ricardo Serrano recorded an impressive five RBI’s in the game, three of them off of a double to left field in the top of the fifth that brought in first baseman Jake Sahagia, catcher Joey Notch, and left fielder Alex Turner.
Sophomore pitcher Chris Alcala was able to help earn the win for the Warriors, pitching five innings and only giving up one run. After five innings, Alcala was succeeded by Reece Buska, Kevin McMahon, Kyle Shore, and Sebastian Sanchez, all pitching one inning before being replaced by the next.
The Warriors increase their record to 4-2, improving their road record to 2-1. They will face off against San Bernardino again on their home turf Thursday Feb. 12.
