A free virtual event and workshop featuring three award-winning short films portraying mental health and a few interactive therapeutic activities will happen on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
Movies for Mental Health, presented by the Art with Impact and Student Health Services, aims to bring awareness to mental health issues, according to the Student Health Services announcement on Canvas.
The audience will be able to participate in activities that focus on practicing connections between the mind and body and self-collective exploration as individuals.
The virtual workshop portion will include an anonymous chat-based discussion where attendees can converse about various aspects of mental health and the media’s representation of mental illness.
To conclude the event, there will be a live forum of experienced speakers, mental health resources, and support available to encourage individuals to share their own stories.
