Women’s soccer team falls at home against Long Beach City College
The El Camino College women’s soccer team played against Long Beach City College for the second time this season, as they took a 3-1 loss at home on Friday, Oct. 26.
They are now on an eight-game losing streak.
Starting the first half, EC’s forward, Nalleli Mendoza, scored in the 23rd minute, helping the Warriors take the lead.
However, the Vikings didn’t need much time to catch up as they scored their first goal in the 24th minute by midfielder Suhei Castillo, helping them tie at 1 before the half.
In the second half, the Vikings scored twice within a six-minute span, one being a penalty kick in the 50th minute by forward, Quinn Trowbridge, and the second goal in the 56th minute by forward, Brittany Caudillo.
“After playing a strong first half against a quality team, poor defending resulted in us gifting Long Beach two goals early in the second half which ended up being the difference between the teams,” EC head coach John Britton said.
The Warriors are 4-12 overall and will host their next game against LA Harbor College on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m.
