The women’s tennis team fell short at the State Individual Championships in Ojai, California this past weekend according to U.S. Tennis Association results.
Sophomore Rose Sgolsutyatorn returned after missing nearly the entire season to win her first match in the championship against Coral Imhoff from Santa Rosa 6-0, 6-2. She defeated her next opponent, Jenna McGurik from Foothill College, 7-4, 3-6, 6-4.
In the round of 16, Sgolsutyatorn lost 6-4, 6-3 against Van Nguyen from De Anza.
In the doubles, freshmen Serina Rowland and Jade Shugars defeated Imperial Valley College players 6-0, 6-0. In the next round, Shugars and Rowland lost against Fullerton College players 6-1, 6-0.
