As a way for students and professionals to network with non-profit organizations, MESA has set up a “STEM Night” event on Thursday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the STEM center, according to a press realease.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and MESA (Mathemarics, Engineering, Science Achievement) aspire to recruit mentors and potential partners that will be able to offer internships and job shadowing opportunies for students participating in these programs, according to the press release.

MESA|STEM students will kick off the event by showing their summer research findings which were funded by the Chevron non-profit organization, Dean of Natural Sciences Jean Shankweiler said.

“STEM Night will be a night of networking and showcasing local non-profit organizations that provide STEM programs to the Southern California region and beyond,” Arturo Hernandez, MESA director, said.

The Thursday event will be coordinated by Latinas in STEM, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and EC MESA|STEM programs, Hernandez added.
