Update: Nov. 22, 8:55 p.m. Warriors outlast Renegades in a 25-22 set-four win.
In the most competitive set from start to finish, the Warriors took an early lead only to have errors bite them in the butt.
The Renegades fought hard and long and eventually took a 17-16 lead late in the set.
Pattison took a timeout when the Warriors trailed 17-20 then the magic began.
The Warriors went on an 8-2 run to end the match and take down the Renegades 3-1 in sets.
Update: Nov. 22, 7:20 p.m. Bakersfield takes early 7-2 lead, pushes to take back a set.
Being down 0-2 didn’t mean a thing for the Renegades as they finally hit their stride to take an early lead in the third.
The visitors clearly didn’t care about the pressure before them and made the Warriors look like they were the ones trailing the match.
Unfortunately, the defense finally picked up the pace and made some plays to help the Warriors go on a run mid-set.
But the lead accumulated by the Renegades proved to be too much and the Warriors fell 25-20.
Visitors serve first, but still trail the match, 2-1.
Ralphs has 12 kills, Brydon has 14 and Hammond has 13.
Sophomore libero Michelle Shimamoto leads all players with 16 digs.
Update: Nov. 22, 6:47 p.m. Warriors jump out to big lead to push Renegades into corner, but the visitors fight hard.
The Warriors didn’t feel like letting go of the gas pedal and jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the Renegades even picked up their first point.
The serve receive for the Renegades continues to struggle, beginning from set one, but the visitors are far from being put down, as they went on several runsmall to keep the set close.
Despite multiple errors from the Warriors down the stretch and a 7-0 run for the Gades to set two 24-all, El Camino outlasted the visitors in a 26-24 set win to take a 2-0 lead.
EC has four players with at least six kills led by Hammond’said nine, while BC has three players with at least five, led by Sophie Ralphs’ eight.
El Camino serves first in set three and are looking for the sweep in round one.
Update: Nov. 22, 6:24 p.m. Warriors open match with a first set win, 25-15.
The Warriors needed to come out with some energy to avoid a tough match, and sophomore middle blocker Micah Hammond knew that just as much as everybody else.
So she took matters into her own hands and helped El Camino take a 1-0 lead, with her fourth kills and two total blocks.
Freshman outside hitter Aiko WATERS led all players with five kills and no errors in the opening set.

The El Camino women’s volleyball team is once again hosting a round one playoff match and tonight’s match features a visit from No. 11 Bakersfield College.
The Warriors are unstoppable (21-0) against team’s ranked lower than them this season and the Renegades come in as a heavy underdog due to an 0-6 record against team’s ranked higher than them.
