Women’s soccer team shutout against Golden West College
With only one victory in the season so far the EC women’s soccer team suffered its fifth loss 3-0 against Golden West College Sept. 17.
“I think our team played really hard game we played really well,” Nadia Luna said. “It was a well played game, I just think that we got really unlucky with some of the passes and some of the runs; we had a lot of chances to score; we just missed.”
Assistant coach Nicole Gervais said that missing on a penalty kick opportunity was one of the negative keys of the game.
Also Gervais said the team didn’t play well because some players are dealing with injuries like muscle pulls.
“The other team did well, they came to win, they were prepared, they are a tough team, but we are going to working hard and we are going to beat them next time,” sophomore Melissa Paramo said.
The team will work to fix any problems they’ve had moving forward.
“Every team works on fundamentals; every team works hard in practice, does better in the fundamentals and so we just need to understand that in practice is like you play,” Gervais said.
