Vibrant music surrounds your body as you enter the big, somewhat empty room above the Bookstore.
Students and staff members danced to the sounds of Usher, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Drake and other top 40 hits played by the DJ with his MacBook Pro at Friday’s Homecoming Dance.
The food served was catered by Lomeli’s Italian Restaurant and was included in the ticket price of $3 for the ASB-sticker holders and $5 for non-ASB sticker holders.
Diego Gonzalez, 19, business administration major and student showed up to support the dance and he liked the food they served and the music and overall thought it was worth the $5 admission.
“I like the ravioli, spaghetti and the drinks that they served. I like the dance music, club music and pretty much all the music that they’ve played,” Gonzalez said.
Clarence Davis, 31, photography major also showed up to the dance in support of the candidates and the ECC Care Club.
“I like the choices of candidates they’ve picked, for example like Earon Wafer, and Vanessa Aguilar-Leyva because they are members of the Care Club,” Davis said.
Sakura Shimizu, 19, business major showed up to support the ASO (Associated Student Organization) along with her boyfriend Yuta Fujioka, 20, business economics from UCLA and they’ve felt the dance was a good value overall.
“For the price of $3 you get food, you get nice music, and everything set up nicely, a lot of hip hop, like from Drake and a lot of different kinds,” Shimizu said.
