This week, the Inter-Club Council (ICC) is hosting a blood drive Tuesday through Thursday in the Student Activities Center to give students a chance to help the community.
ICC hosts the blood drive once every semester. There is one in fall, spring and summer.
ICC adviser Breanna Von Stein encourages students to donate.
“Last fall, students donated 400 pints of blood, so it would be great if we hit the same amount again,” Von Stein said.
Before donating, a person should be in good health, be at least 110 pounds, drink plenty of food and eat, and not have had a tattoo within the last 12 months. There are more FDA requirements listed in Blood Donor Guidelines on the Cedars Sinai website.
Students who donate will receive a T-shirt or coupon for a pint of Baskin Robbins ice cream, according to a flier.
The blood drive is open 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Those interested in donating can walk in during those hours or go to donatebloodcedars.org to sign up.
