Illegal immigrant caught with drugs

Officers stopped a vehicle on Manhattan Beach Boulevard for expired registration tags. The driver pulled his vehicle into parking Lot C east near the bookstore.

The driver said that he had no driver’s license because he was an illegal immigrant. His vehicle was searched so it could be towed and impounded for 30 days and the search by officers turned up marijuana. They searched the suspect and found more in his pockets.

The man was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana while driving, and driving without a license.

Student’s Civic stolen from Lot F

A student called police after his car, a 1991 black Honda Civic, was apparently stolen on the north end of upper parking Lot F last Wednesday. He said he parked his car around 1 p.m. before locking it and going to class.

Injured student drives to hospital

A police officer went to Torrance Memorial Hospital to talk to a student who injured her ankle after walking near the auto shops and Natural Sciences Building, where she said she slipped, fell and hurt her ankle. She drove herself to the hospital for examination.

Police cite man drinking alcohol

Police officers found a man drinking a can of beer on campus near the corner of Crenshaw and Redondo Beach Boulevards.

The man said he bought the alcohol at a liquor store down the street and said he was waiting for the bus. He was cited for drinking alcohol on school grounds.

Motorcyclist hit by car in Lot L

Pulling out of Lot L around 10 a.m., a student collided with a motorcyclist last Wednesday. Paramedics and the CHP were called to the scene and the victim was taken to the hospital for neck pain.
