Male attacks in Lot L, flees

A female student was assaulted in Parking Lot L on Feb. 14 near her car. The suspect, a thin black male about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with an afro, pushed her to the ground and told her to give him her purse and her keys, or else he’d shoot her. He ran after she continued to kick and scream. Police suggest students use a free shuttle available from 5:45 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., which can be contacted by any blue telephone stand on campus. Phone robbery near Alondra

While walking near Alondra Park, a student’s cell phone was stolen Feb. 18 on Manhattan Beach Boulevard. The suspect is identified as a black male, about 20 years old, 6 feet 3 inches tall, 225 pounds, driving a burgundy Chevrolet Suburban with tinted windows.

Police cite man wanderering

Officers were patrolling near the bookstore and saw a man walking by the Campus Bookstore at 4:50 a.m. last Sunday. Police found personal hygiene items in a nearby men’s room and the man to be carrying marijuana, for which he was cited. The man is on probation for burglary.

Man riding bike resists arrest

Officers attempted to stop a man from riding his bicycle against traffic on Manhattan Beach Boulevard last Saturday afternoon. The man swore at the police and took a fighting stance. He was pepper sprayed and arrested. He had a criminal record for similar offenses.

Police book sleeping man

Police were alerted last Sunday of a man sleeping in the bushes next to Parking Lot L; police found an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The man stated he was just sleeping under a tree. He was booked and released.
